Sure thing. Here it goes:

Alright, so, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game kicked off this wild ride where LEGO took all these giant IPs on crazy adventures. They jumped into superhero stuff with LEGO Marvel Superheroes and LEGO Batman. Oh, and they wandered through the magical chaos of LEGO Harry Potter, too. Like, seriously, everything from the Lord of the Rings fantasy scenes to LEGO Dimensions has been LEGO-ized. If it’s got LEGOs, there’s probably a game for it. And now, I can’t help but think—what if SpongeBob SquarePants got the LEGO treatment?
For as long as I can remember, SpongeBob’s been THE thing over at Nickelodeon. Honestly, it doesn’t look like that’s going to change. It’s kind of everywhere, right? Movies, spinoffs, games—you name it. Lately, things like SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl have put Bikini Bottom right in the spotlight. So, like, wouldn’t it be amazing for LEGO to jump in and play around in this world?
Now listen, there have been a bazillion SpongeBob games recently. Despite him being around since 1999, it’s like he’s gotten this sudden revival or something in gaming. Back in 2020, we got SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, which was like a glow-up for the 2003 original. Must’ve been a hit, cause two years later, boom! New game: The Cosmic Shake. They even tossed in The Patrick Star Game somewhere in there.
So that’s three Bikini Bottom platformers in just the past, what, five years? Plus, he shows up everywhere else. Brawling in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawls? Check. Racing in Nickelodeon Kart Racers? You betcha. Even popped up in mobile games. And with all these new movies and spinoff shows in the mix, LEGO could totally rock this IP right now.
LEGO’s had its fun with SpongeBob before, with those old themed sets—they did the Krusty Krab, Chum Bucket, you name it. And, okay, it’s been a minute—like, no new sets since 2012. But come on, that shouldn’t stop LEGO from diving back into Bikini Bottom, right? Imagine a whole LEGO game here! Like, you get an open-world setup like those Traveller’s Tales LEGO games. Picture wandering around, collecting every dang stud, meeting quirky characters, maybe saving Bikini Bottom from Plankton’s nonsense. And hey, sprinkle in some Nickelodeon cameos and you’ve got a winner.
No whispers about such a game yet, but honestly, a LEGO-SpongeBob mash-up? Absolute goldmine.
