So, here’s the thing. Warner Bros. Games just spilled the beans on what Hogwarts Legacy will look like on the Nintendo Switch 2. And, honestly, it’s got me kind of excited, even if I wasn’t really expecting to be. I mean, who knew they’d cram so much tech into that little gadget?
Apparently, if you’re chilling in front of your TV, you’re looking at a sweet 1440p resolution. Out and about? Still hitting 1080p in handheld mode. Both with HDR, which I’m guessing makes everything look like it’s glowing in that magical way. Oh, and there’s DLSS — no clue what that stands for, but sure, why not?
They even mentioned supporting mouse controls with the Joy-Con 2 — which is kind of like, huh? Mouse controls? And you don’t have to wait forever while maps load. That’s a win, right?
Rob Nelson from Avalanche Software, this tech wizard, was raving in some video about the game’s Creator’s Voice. He’s saying stuff like there’s this whole new level of graphical thingamajigs and lighting and who knows what else. Totally sounds like they used every fancy tech buzzword they could. Motion controls for aiming and flying — I guess because waving your arms around like a mad wizard is the new black.
Touchscreens are in the mix too for menu stuff. You know, poking the screen to make magic happen. The new Switch is beefier, which means the game won’t lag like my old laptop when it’s overloaded with tabs.
Now, about the game itself — set in the 1800s wizarding thingy. You’re this fifth-year student, apparently special or cursed or something, with old magic at your fingertips. Sounds a bit like every fantasy ever, but who am I to judge?
You’re off to uncover some hidden truth. Spoiler alert: probably involves something dramatic. You get to cook up potions, grow weird plants, and throw spells around like you’re in a magical food fight. There’s a whole list of places to wander — Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, some spooky forest. You know the drill.
Oh, and it’s out June 5, 2025. So mark your calendars or don’t — I’m not your mom.
This thing’s gonna hit shelves and the eShop globally, so unless you’re living under a rock, you’ll probably hear about it again. Meanwhile, I might go see what this Creator’s Voice video fuss is all about… or not.
