“Rogue Incursion” Receives Unexpected “Part 1” Label at the Last Minute

When Survios finally dropped their much-anticipated horror shooter, Alien: Rogue Incursion (2024), last week, many of us were caught off guard by the unexpected ‘Part One’ in the title. The immediate concern was clear: is this just a portion of the game we’re getting? Is it being served to us in smaller, episodic chunks?

However, after diving into the eight-hour-long experience on PC VR and PSVR 2, our full review reassured us that this is indeed a complete game, earning a well-deserved 7 out of 10. Praises were sung for its absorbing environments and the intense thrill of battling packs of Xenomorphs that resemble raptors. Admittedly, the thrill took a hit due to the repetitive nature of enemies and a rather unforgiving save system.

Survios has since addressed the confusion on X, clarifying that the ‘Part One’ label was not intended to imply a piecemeal approach to the release. The game itself is a standalone adventure that wraps up with a cliffhanger, setting the stage for a continuation. And the good news? Part Two is already in the works and promises “deadlier enemies and more challenging obstacles.” That’s exactly what we want to hear.

As things stand, we’re eagerly waiting to see how the Quest version will perform once it’s out on the Quest 3/3S on February 13th, 2025. As touched upon in our review, the game boasts dynamically loading levels, rich textures, and numerous physics-based interactions. These demanding features likely contributed to the delay in releasing the game for Quest.

Our aim was never to confuse or mislead regarding the nature of this game, and we see now how ‘Part One’ might create such an impression.

This installment is a self-contained adventure with a cliffhanger ending. Our intent was to alert fans that a continuation is on the horizon, hence the announcement of Part Two coinciding with the game’s launch. As ardent fans of the Alien universe, the Survios team is eagerly anticipating sharing more about the tales of Zula, Davis, and other characters.

While we have no additional updates to share about Part Two just yet, rest assured it is in active development, and we will have exciting news to follow.
