Sure, let’s dive right in. Okay, so, here’s the thing — Japan has had its fair share of Mario stuff, right? But this, uh, “Super Mario World” movie — is it the first of its name over there, or are we calling it Super Mario Bros 4? No idea why I’m stuck on this, but it’s like this nagging thought, you know?
So, NBC Universal — and trust me, this was outta left field — kinda just dropped this little nugget at their recent upfronts, which, by the way, is usually like a buffet of TV news. But here we are, surprisingly staring at Mario movie deets. Never thought I’d see the day, honestly.
Buried in this press release they had, nestled between the usual roll call of films — there’s talk about “Super Mario World.” Now, Peacock, right, that’s where it’s gonna land. Makes sense, ‘cause NBC Universal, they kinda own Illumination. You know, those folks doin’ the animated magic for Nintendo’s beloved plumber.
And this list is wild, like really something else: Megan 2.0, Nobody 2 (didn’t see the first, but who am I kidding?), Bad Guys 2, and even a new How to Train Your Dragon! Seriously, it’s like a hall of sequels. But why am I ranting? Oh, right, anyway—Super Mario World, smack dab with this lineup.
So, mark your calendars (or whatever you mark these days) — April 3, it’s gonna drop. Which is, I guess, why it’s mixed up with the 2025-26 batch. Sounds futuristic, but it’s, like, around the corner. And again, why “Super Mario World”? Maybe they’ve got secrets or just love keeping us guessing. Who knows.
