Sure, here it goes:
Okay, so here’s the thing…Samsung might just be the next big player planning to splash some serious cash in the U.S. At least that’s what President Trump let slip when he was chatting about some trade stuff with South Korea.
Samsung’s Big Play in the U.S.? Why Not, Right?
The Trump team’s busy tying up deals with places like India, Japan, and yep, South Korea too. Apparently, a lot of this involves foreign companies deciding it’s high time to invest in America. Since Trump stepped in, big names like Apple, TSMC, and SoftBank have already rolled out those multi-billion dollar plans to set up shop here. And now, it looks like Samsung’s next on the list. Caught wind of this over on The Korea Herald, where they say Trump’s expecting to ink a deal with them soon.
Check this out:
“I heard Samsung is now, because of tariffs, they are going to build massive facilities in the United States. If we didn’t do the tariffs, they wouldn’t be doing that.”
“Even Samsung whose name isn’t mentioned here, but I heard that they announced this morning that they’re going to be building a very big plant because they want to be able to beat the tariffs.”
Wild, right? So it appears Trump’s administration is sweet-talking these firms into making massive investments Stateside, and Samsung might be next. They’re already plotting to beef up their spots in Austin and Texas. Word is, about 10,000 jobs could spring from this. They’ve got this thing going in Taylor, Texas, rumored to be up and running by the end of 2027. Supposedly, it’s for cutting-edge stuff—like that 2nm tech everyone’s raving about, especially folks like NVIDIA.
And oh, here’s a pic!
By the way, Samsung seems to be thinking of moving some appliance and TV production elsewhere, as per their recent earnings talk. So yeah, a tariff deal could tackle that too. We might hear more once Trump wraps up his South Korea trade policy—could be next week. Or not. Who knows?
Hope it makes sense! How random some details seem, huh? But that’s the fun of it all, right?
