Upcoming Game Pays Homage to 90s Horror, Launching on PC Soon

If you’re on the hunt for more horror with a retro flair, keep your eyes peeled for Phase Zero, the inaugural title from the Polish developer, Spina Games, made even more exciting with Superhot Presents stepping in as co-publisher.

Set in the winter of 1994 in the snowy town of Flint Peak, Phase Zero unravels a chilling story. As a fierce snowstorm rages, a strange infection spreads through the town, morphing many of its residents into grotesque monsters. Phase Zero takes inspiration from the classic horror games of the PSX era, complete with those nostalgia-inducing fixed camera angles. Players will navigate through the game with two distinct characters: Mary, a keen reporter, and Guy, an adept engineer, both striving to survive as horrifying “meat moss” creeps across the walls.

Armed with weapons, Mary and Guy take on the nightmarish creatures that have overtaken Flint Peak. However, vigilance is key—they’ll need to solve intricate puzzles as they delve into the mystery.

Currently in development for Windows PC, Phase Zero is set to make its debut on Steam at a future date. While there’s no specific arrival time for a playable demo, the developers have hinted that it’s on the horizon soon.

### A Horror Game Worth Watching

I find everything about Phase Zero incredibly captivating. The survival horror theme resonates perfectly, especially with characters battling to escape a town besieged by a snowstorm.

Although Phase Zero’s release date hasn’t been pinned down yet, eager players can already add it to their Steam wishlists. I’ll be keeping a close watch for updates in the coming weeks and months, as this might just shape up to be a standout title in the realm of classic-style horror games for PC.

While we’re yet to hear about potential console versions, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this chilling experience make its way to Xbox and PlayStation, provided it captures enough attention on PC.
