Newest Iron Meat Update Offers Even More to Feast On

Since Iron Meat dropped in September, the crew at Retroware has been bustling away, plotting out a robust roadmap for exciting new game content that’s set to enthrall fans even more!

First up, Xbox players can now dive into a ton of fresh content that’s bound to ignite your gaming cravings.

Mirror, Mirror

Among the top features gamers have been clamoring for is Mirror Mode. This nifty option lets you reverse your journey, tackling each level from the left! Although flipping the x-axis might sound minor, it transforms every showdown with enemies and bosses into a brand-new adventure. You can unlock this mode after clearing the game once on any difficulty.

Red Rapid Fire

Another cool addition is the automatic Supercharge upgrade—it’s essentially the third tier of weapon upgrades. When activated, your weapon’s projectiles change from blue or green to a striking red, irrespective of their upgrade level. So, if you’ve maxed out your guns to shoot green projectiles, picking up a third duplicate rewards you with a Supercharge (Rapid Fire) upgrade, and your ammo blazing red.

Exciting news with this update! Any extra lives you rack up while battling through a level can now be carried over to the next one. It’s your reward for finishing the level with more lives than you started with.

Visual Enhancements to Level Backgrounds

We’ve revisited the scenery of several levels, injecting them with added details to enhance the storyline of Iron Meat. These tweaks include elements like helicopters swooping in to combat Meat monsters in the Forest, midboss spikes on Base, surviving pilots in the ending credits animation, and impactful Meat meteors on Train.

Other Updates

Besides squashing some bugs, here’s what else we’ve adjusted:

• Buffed damage for the “E,” “U,” and “M” guns.
• Added more Meat across the Moon Base.
• Tweaked the MI-24 helicopter boss fight patterns for clarity.
• Made stages generally more balanced for players (like making Base Meat worms killable immediately, Train’s Meat Mouth Doors destructible, and other minor fixes).
