Oh boy, so get this. There’s this game studio called NoCode—well, it was called that, but now they’ve gone and switched it up to Screen Burn. Yeah, I know, it’s got that retro vibe, right? Anyway, they spilled the beans on their website, and I was like, “Okay, let’s see what’s up with that.”
Apparently, the whole “NoCode” thing doesn’t quite fit them anymore. I mean, they started back in 2015 with this quirky idea of making games without needing a coder. Cool concept, sure, but now? They’ve got coders everywhere, coding up a storm. Guess they figured the name was a bit—what’s the word—off? And let’s not forget, they’ve been busy, cranking out stuff like Stories Untold and this wild game, Observation. Oh, and guess what? They’re even working with Konami on that fresh Silent Hill: Townfall. Like, hey, no pressure, right?
But back to this name fiasco. The guys at NoCode—they pretty much became a term people toss around for app and course stuff. Suddenly, their inbox turned into this wild, tangled mess of confusion. Like, seriously, what a nightmare. So, they sat down and thought, “If we’re not that, then what the heck are we?” Pretty deep, I know.
And then, it hit them. They’re all about that old-school feel—y’know, like the dusty 3.5” floppy disks or that humming analogue TV. Ah, nostalgia! Games that linger with you, way after you’ve put the controller down. It’s like they want their stuff to be like those arcade machines with the display just burned into your brain forever. Kinda haunting but in a cool way. Anyway—where was I? Oh yeah, that’s why they’re now Screen Burn. Makes sense… sorta.
