Take-Two Interactive has hinted at its plans to back the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, though they’re staying mum on the details for now.
This well-known publisher has already brought several beloved titles to the original Nintendo Switch, including BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. The list doesn’t end there; it’s expanded with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and more recently, NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shared some insights during the Q3 2025 earnings call. “We’ve maintained a strong partnership with Nintendo,” he noted. “Our support for their platforms has always been strategic, aligning with each game’s release. There was a point when Nintendo appealed primarily to younger gamers, which influenced our schedule. But now, with the Nintendo Switch—and potentially the Switch 2—the platform is designed for a broader audience. Just take a look at Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on Switch. Although we don’t have any concrete announcements at this moment, we certainly anticipate backing the Switch 2.”
For those eager to hear about what’s next for Nintendo’s consoles, mark your calendars for the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. It’s set to air at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2nd.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to launch globally in 2025, with the exact date still under wraps. Keep your eyes peeled for updates!
