New Trailer Announces Release Date for ‘COLD VR’, the Spiritual Successor to ‘SUPERHOT’

A highly anticipated title, COLD VR, which carries the legacy of the beloved SUPERHOT VR from 2016, is set to debut on Quest and PC VR headsets next month. Meanwhile, PlayStation fans can expect its arrival on PSVR 2 a bit later.

SUPERHOT VR might have been around for a while, but it remains a cherished classic. It’s somewhat surprising that more developers haven’t ventured into crafting games with its mesmerizing time-manipulation mechanics.

However, COLD VR looks to shake things up. This time, the game introduces a twist where moving slower speeds up time. Consequently, this accelerates the pace of the persistent enemy AI. Dragging your feet in strategizing could lead to a swift defeat.

In a fresh video update, ALLWARE, the game’s developer, shared the exciting news that they are collaborating with publisher Perp Games. COLD VR is geared for a January 21st, 2025 release on Quest and PC VR headsets. Although the PSVR 2 version is confirmed, its launch will follow at a later, unspecified date.

The game isn’t just about facing off against advanced enemy AI; it also introduces challenging environmental hazards like perilous lasers, moving platforms, and unexpected twists. These elements are sure to test even the bravest players, according to ALLWARE.
