OneXPlayer has taken the wraps off their latest innovative device, the X1 Pro, which boasts a versatile 3-in-1 design driven by AMD’s Strix Point APUs. Positioned right beside big names like the F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3, the X1 Pro is one of the earliest handhelds to harness the power of AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs. It’s a formidable competitor, especially when you consider GPD’s soon-to-arrive Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
The OneXPlayer X1 Pro is all about flexibility, with its clever design allowing it to function seamlessly as a laptop, tablet, or handheld device. Much like the Pocket 4, the X1 Pro is equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, boasting a robust architecture with 12 cores (split into four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c) in a dual-CCX configuration. There’s a healthy 12MB of L2 cache paired with 24MB of L3 cache, and it can achieve a boost clock speed of 5.1 GHz. On the graphics front, the Radeon 890M integrated GPU offers 16 Compute Units, all powered by AMD’s XDNA 2 architecture, and the NPU within the HX 370 can churn out an impressive 50 TOPS of AI performance.
Turning our attention to the display, the X1 Pro features a 10.95-inch screen with a 120 Hz LTPS panel that likely utilizes IPS technology, sporting a sharp 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. The colors are vibrant too, as it covers 138% of the sRGB color spectrum, with a brightness level hitting 540 nits. You have the option to pick from storage configurations ranging from 1TB to a hefty 4TB, promising blazing-fast speeds of up to 7.1 GB/s for reading and 6.5 GB/s for writing, neatly packaged in the 2280 form factor. Beyond this, OneXPlayer thoughtfully included a MicroSD card slot to expand storage even further.
The X1 Pro’s 65.02Wh battery is rated for up to eight hours of usage, although real-world mileage might vary; if you’re running at 28W, expect approximately two hours. To keep you powered up, a 100W Gallium Nitride charger comes included. Connectivity options are modern, with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
An interesting addition is the inclusion of hall-effect RGB joysticks, aimed at eliminating stick drift issues. In terms of I/O, the device is well-equipped with two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a trusty 3.5mm audio jack.
