Fireball 2 from Radiangames, huh? It’s like—imagine if a firecracker and a disco ball had a baby, and that baby was actually a fast-paced video game. Yeah, that’s what we’re dealing with here. On PS5, no less! Neon lights everywhere. You ever notice how those retro styles never really die? Anyway, it’s this arcade-style survival game. Got you controlling a fireball. I know, right? A fireball! Dodging enemies, triggering bombs. You gotta get those enemies close enough for the bombs to blow them up. Bit risky, but isn’t risk just part of life? Get those scores up and see your name on the leaderboard. No pressure, just tens of thousands of digital baddies out for you. Casual.
So, two modes. Core is what you’re starting with. Slowly ramps up the intensity, kinda like a rollercoaster that you’re not entirely sure you’re strapped into. Enemies avoid bombs here, gives you a fighting chance, right? Then there’s Chaos Mode. Slower enemies, but they’re popping up from wherever you move. Guess they had to keep it exciting somehow.
Controls, yeah, they’re straightforward. Move the fireball around with the left stick or D-Pad—whichever suits your style. Bombs everywhere waiting for your touch to make them go boom. Boosting around’s a thing too. Use any of those buttons—X, Square, Circle, L2, R2—to zip away. But, hey, boosting nonstop isn’t a genius move. Sometimes more enemies pop out—I dunno why they’d program it that way. Keeps things interesting, I suppose.
Then there’s this Nova thing. Blow up enough enemies, and boom—a Nova! Bigger than your standard bomb. More bang for your buck, I guess. And upgrades! Just when you think you’re settling in, they up the ante. Your fireball gets bigger, faster—an extra life tossed in too. It’s like a surprise bonus from nowhere. Level up enough and they even throw ‘SuperNovas’ at you. Mix in two, and you get a Blackhole. Yes, a literal Blackhole. Not joking. Temporary invincibility as a perk—good luck timing that!
Trophies? If you’re into collecting—this game’s got a full set. A Platinum trophy’s at the end of the rainbow. Some Bronze, Silver, Gold ones too—if that’s your thing. Survive waves, upgrade your fireball, detonate Novas, create Blackholes. I mean, the list sounds like someone’s New Year resolutions gone wild.
And hey, if all that gaming sounds fun, it’s yours for $6.99 on PlayStation 5. Dive into those neon lights and see where it takes you. Anyway—or was it—no, anyway, Fireball 2 definitely seems to have a nostalgic charm. Or maybe it’s just the neon. Either way, it’s something to check out if you’re up for some chaotic fun.
