Alright, so Spike Chunsoft is doing this thing where they release Shuten Order—only digitally though—for the Nintendo Switch. But here’s the kicker—it’s happening in Europe and North America. Yay for digital life, I guess?
EXNOA (DMM Games people, you know them, right?) teamed up with those Tookyo Games folks. And guess who’s on the lead? Kazutaka Kodaka! Yeah, the Danganronpa mastermind himself. So this game, it’s like a wild ride through five systems crammed in one—stealth, horror, and some multi-perspective visual novel chaos. Spice of life, anyone?
Anyway—wait, let me find my thoughts—ah yes, this whole vibe about doom. The world? 168 days away from checking out. And enter Shuten Order, this wacky religious group fixated on humanity’s end. They grow into this nation-state thing, and then bam! Someone knocks off the Founder—plot twist, right?
Rei Shimobe (our protagonist buddy) gets resurrected, thanks to this miracle—”Power of God” kind of deal. But oops, the resurrection’s on the fritz. No memories, and there’s this four-day life limit. As if things weren’t messy enough, two angels show up (self-proclaimed, just saying). They say Rei has to pass “God’s trial”—fancy talk for finding and taking out their own killer. Just four days to figure it out. That’s some pressure, isn’t it?
Coming to a Switch near you on the 5th of September, 2025. Mark it or not.
Character run: Rei Shimobe is our resurrected dude, voiced by Mitsuki Saiga. Then there’s Kishiru Inugami (Daisuke Ono)—Justice Minister with a flair for weird spontaneity and a dabble in legal drug stuff. Yugen Ushitora (Yuki Ono) heads Health, pretty intense about his work, and dotes on his sis. It’s endearing and mildly creepy—depends.
Teko Ion, science whiz, another genius (IQ’s off the charts)—played by Ayumu Murase. Guy’s awkward but builds, like, all the techy stuff. Honoka Kokushikan (Inori Minase) is Education’s boss—a “Conjurer of Words,” whatever that means.
There’s Manji Fushicho (Shizuka Ito) taking on security—real fiery type, with big beef against heretics. Lastly, angels Himeru (Aoi Yuki): impulsive, kind of miffed at Shuten. Mikotoru (Toshiyuki Morikawa), the calmer angel, likes dodging hard questions. Why? Who knows.
So there we have it. A chaotic little peek into Shuten Order. Intrigued yet?
