Apple has some exciting developments on the horizon with its AI technology, known as Apple Intelligence, which is integrated into its iOS and Mac systems. This impressive set of tools is coming to Vision Pro in April with the debut of visionOS 2.4. However, for those who’ve enabled developer mode, the chance to explore these features is available right now.
True to expectations, Apple Intelligence is set to deliver an array of cutting-edge AI capabilities to Vision Pro, enhancing the experience with tools for writing, image generation, smart replies, natural language search in Photos, AI-driven summaries, and custom emojis. These features have been available on iOS and Mac since their rollout last October, and with Vision Pro’s use of voice and hand-based text input, they are expected to be even more impactful.
In the upcoming update, Vision Pro will also improve its Guest User mode. This enhancement will allow users to share their Vision Pro with others through a nearby iPhone or iPad, simplifying the process of guiding guests through the experience. This update aims to alleviate the often cumbersome navigation familiar to those showcasing XR headsets.
A standout addition in the 2.4 release is the introduction of the Spatial Gallery. This collection will feature a curated assortment of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas crafted by talented artists, filmmakers, and photographers. Upon its release, Spatial Gallery will be accessible to users across a broad range of regions, including Australia, Canada, several European countries, much of Asia, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
Vision Pro will also see improved integration with iOS. Once visionOS 2.4 officially launches in April, users will have the ability to queue app and game downloads, explore spatial content, and view device information directly through a new Apple Vision Pro iOS app. This app is set to roll out alongside iOS 18.4.
Initially, the release of Apple Intelligence with visionOS 2.4 will be available in U.S. English, with more languages and features slated for introduction as the year progresses, according to Apple.
While the precise release date is yet to be confirmed beyond the target of April, Apple has already made a developer beta of visionOS 2.4 accessible. To tap into this preview, navigate to Settings, then Privacy & Security, activate “Developer Mode,” and restart your Vision Pro to get started.
