Meta and Microsoft just dropped something kinda… well, something. The Quest 3S Xbox Edition. Sounds fancy, right? Not quite what you think. It’s not Xbox’s answer to PlayStation VR or whatever. Basically, it’s the usual Quest 3S, just wearing different clothes—Xbox’s Carbon Black and Velocity Green. Snazzy, sorta.
So, here’s the scoop: $399.99 gets you not just the headset, but also snazzy Touch Plus controllers, an Xbox controller (fancy!), and the regular Elite Strap (not the one with more juice). Oh, and don’t forget the three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Seriously, kind of a steal when you consider buying this stuff separately would run you about $490. Do the math: Quest 3S goes for $299, Elite Strap $69, standard Xbox gizmo $64, and that Game Pass—$60 for three months.
But hey, if you’ve already got an Xbox controller lying around and a Game Pass, you might wanna skip this whole special edition shebang. Xbox cloud gaming is already a thing on the Quest. Happened back in late 2023—Quest 2 and up. You can play over 400 games this way. Neat, huh?
There’s more! You also get a Horizon+ subscription for three months. That’s $8 a month usually. You can download and play 30+ Quest games like Asgard’s Wrath 2, Red Matter, and Demeo. And you keep two each month as long as you’re a subscriber. Cool deal if you ask me.
Not sold yet? Maybe check out a review of the Quest 3S. Specs and impressions galore. Go geek out on that if you need more convincing.
Oh, and while everyone’s talking about the Quest 3S, Meta’s busy behind the scenes. They’re teaming up with ASUS Republic of Gamers and Lenovo for some new headsets running Horizon OS. ASUS is all about performance. Lenovo? Learning, productivity, and some entertainment thrown in.
Anyway—wait, I forgot. You can grab the Quest 3S Xbox Edition now on meta.com, Best Buy if you’re in the US, and Argos or EE in the UK. But heads up, they say it’s limited edition. So once it’s gone, poof, it’s gone.
