The PlayStation Vita has become something of a relic, fading into obscurity like a distant memory. Yet, some of its cherished games are making a comeback on today’s platforms. The next in line is the 2012 action RPG, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, slated for a remastered release in the near future. Although it’s venturing outside Japan for the first time, it won’t grace any PlayStation consoles, ironically enough, considering its original exclusive status on the Vita.
## PS Vita’s Exclusive Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Makes a Comeback, but Skips PlayStation
Rebranded as Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered, this once-Vita-exclusive title is set to launch on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on May 22. The remaster refreshingly drags this decade-old gem into the current gaming landscape, offering enhanced graphics, an updated user interface, newly integrated gameplay mechanics, and its debut English localization.
In addition to these improvements, players can look forward to several quality-of-life updates aimed at easing gameplay, such as refined tuning, simplified mission selection, and a new lock-on mode. Be sure to watch the trailer below for a sneak peek at this revitalized cult classic.
Players step into the shoes of a soldier in a tumultuous time, choosing from three factions—Earth Alliance, Z.A.F.T., or Archangel—to engage in story missions inspired by notable moments from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. The game also delves into side stories like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: STARGAZER. With more than 100 mobile suits available, players can customize their mechs for intense Gundam combat, as described by the game.
For those PlayStation enthusiasts who also own a Nintendo Switch or a gaming PC, preorders for the PC version are available now, while preorders for the Switch will be coming soon.
