Okay, so here’s the thing. I spent a good chunk of time with this game early on—Sea of Remnants, ever heard of it? You might have questions. I sure did. Like, will this ever turn into something coherent? The combat was uh, rudimentary. Kind of like turn-based meets a funky bazaar full of vendors. Think MMO vibes. The story? Well, I couldn’t quite piece it all together, probably ‘cause of no English voices or reliable subtitles. But lemme tell ya, it’s got style. Like, couldn’t-look-away kind of style. Cartoonish, wild animations, menus that reminded me of something epic, like Persona 5. Even when I didn’t get it, I was smiling. An ear-to-ear grin for sure!
Anyway—oh, wait—I almost forgot about the bugs and crashes. Yeah, it’s like a maze of bugs, seriously. But that’s standard for early builds. Even the menus screamed “unfinished!” in a language puzzle. But despite this, it was one of the most interesting games I’ve tackled recently. Each character, a marionette with wooden expressions but bursting with personality. And then there was this ape boss that followed me—a pirate ape! Absurd right?
Totally didn’t know what would pop up next. That’s part of the fun, if you ask me. So, it’s an open-world pirate game, but also with RPG and MMO mechanics. Expect surprises. And, oh, the companions multiply like rabbits. Hundreds, maybe?
Here’s a weird bit: I “found the moon” under the sea—yes, you read that right. And these puppet people lose memories but respawn like nothing happened. What a mix, right? Love the punk-ish vibe, graffiti, and all. Reminds me of teenagers playing hooky.
Now, I’m hanging on this—why? Because I still have no clue what the final voyage will be like. It swings wildly from managing loot, cannon fights, and navigating baffling dialogue. Intuitive? Not always. But fascinating, absolutely.
Will the cool, distinct style coalesce into something I’ll love? Too soon to tell. But the potential is there. Crossing fingers we’ll see a unique take on pirate fantasy. Multiplayer with turn-based and NPCs could be a riot—or a trainwreck. Guess we’ll see.
